Faire a la Carte needs Front Gate help.
Faire a la Carte, the management team for the new Heartland Renaissance Faire in Shawnee, Oklahoma, is seeking Front Gate help for a new faire November 8 & 9.
If you're an experienced Renfaire worker, come out and play! We are the first thing patrons see, and the last people they'll interact with at the end of the day, so *we* set the tone for the Faire day.
If interested, please e-mail me at duane dot kc at gmail dot com. I'll bring the donuts!
Thanks for reading!
Duane E. Peters
Front Gate Coordinator

Greater St. Louis Pirate Festival Open House
It's summer, that time of year when things move slow, and we all go on vacation, right? Not any longer. Open House for the 3rd annual St. Louis Pirate Festival will take place on July 26th from 10am-3pm at the Non-Profit Developmental Center. Did you ever want to live on an "island" in the Caribbean, or be a pirate, or just ready to get back into costume? Well, it's time to make that happen. We will be filling out Pirate Fest paperwork, discussing roles, holding scenario auditions, and giving out information on classes, all-casts, costuming and site work.

Faire Cosed - Memorial Day
Due to flooding on site and out of concern for all participants and patrons, Petit Lyon is, regretably, closed today. Please come visit the village over the next two weekends.
Merci and we look forward to seeing you at the faire.

Volunteer Open House
Renaissance Faire Volunteer Open House and Sign Ups Set for Jan. 12
St. Charles County, Mo. - Renaissance Faire Volunteer Open House and Sign Ups Set for January 12 The Greater St. Louis Renaissance Faire is looking for volunteers for its 2008 season. For those interested in becoming performing costumed players, Open House offers the opportunity for potential volunteers to speak with veteran Renaissance Faire performers, see displays of costumes and props, learn about required classes, rehearsals and costuming, and fill out paperwork.
Volunteers are needed to portray peasants, villagers, merchants and nobility -- French, German and Scottish -- on the streets and stages of our recreated 16th century village. We also need skilled period artisans to demonstrate their crafts, as well as non-costumed behind-the-scenes support help. Volunteer Open House will be Saturday, Jan. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Nonprofit Development Center, 425 Spencer Road, St. Peters (the building behind Spencer Road Library). Two Second-Chance sign-up opportunities are also offered for those who are not able to make Open House: Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. also at the Nonprofit Development Center; and Saturday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Progress Park Banquet Hall in Wentzville, Mo.
Renaissance Faire volunteers often attend promotional events like the St. Patrick's Day parade and St. Charles Tartan Days. Many continue to volunteer year-round at other Renaissance St. Louis events like the St. Louis Pirate Festival in September. The Tenth Season of the Greater St. Louis Renaissance Faire runs from May 17 to June 8, Saturdays and Sundays and Memorial Day, at Wentzville's Rotary Park. Visit our website at http://www.stlrenfaire.com/
for more info or call 636-443-9975.

I Have A Question
I was wondering if anyone knows about season tickets for this season of faire. I couldn't find anything about it on the website, and there's no way to ask questions there either. A lot of the links are broken.

Lord Derbinsley Senior, thrice decorated by King Henry VII and gifted with a young beautiful wife, is not well. His sons, Richard Jr, the legitimate heir, and George, the fruit of an ill-fated liaison with a chambermaid are in attendance to see that old Lord Derbinsley’s estate and legacy are protected.
Lords and ladies, faithful servants, and entertainers from the village have gathered at the manor for a midwinter’s feast this night but emotions run high, and someone will die. But only our audience knows who the victim will be, and who will commit the crime.

just wondering if anyone got some pictures this year of Bonnie Lass while she was the faire?
I was hoping that someone might have gotten some nice pics of Bonnie Lass from the Shantyman and Bonnie Lass pirate show this year. I wanted a nice full length or near full length picture of her because I want to try what she is doing with holding two layer of a skirt up and showing the bloomers underneath and I need somthing visual to help me with getting ideas on how to do that. I have some pictures from this year myself. But the thing is I don't really know where a lot of them are..and truth me told some of the pictures this year got a bit over expused so they might not be even all that good. But if anyone can help me out it would be much apricated

I Heard a Rumour
I wasn't able to make it to faire this year, but I heard from someone who did go that there is a pirate fest planned for the faire grounds in the fall.
Is this true, and does anyone have any more information about it? Current Mood: intrigued
hey everyone, i was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about if/when we're going to go a cast bbq this year?
also, starting sometime in july, i'm going to be attempting to organize a rennie gathering for anyone in the columbia area as well as anyone who wants to make the drive out for it. probably going to be mid july i'm thinkin. possibly the one right before we go to bristol (which for those not "in the know" we're going on the 22 and 23. anyone wanna play host? i figure we'll make it an evening with dinner and a movie. i've got plenty of period movies including alot of kenneth branagh films (i just got Henry V off of ebay in fact). i'll organize who's bringing what to eat, and who all is coming, if someone wants to offer their place. my apartment is smallish and a house would be better, but if needed we can do it at my place if it's a small group (like 10 at most)
anyway, that's about all from me, just gearing up for the summer fest-ivities! lol. (pun quite intended)
see you all, and many ogre hugs to the lot of ya!
